Founded in 1934, Brigard & Urrutia provides legal advice and assistance in all relevant areas of business law and represents clients before the government and the courts, as well as before national and international arbitration panels.

In 2005, Brigard & Urrutia associated with Brigard & Castro, leader in the area of Intellectual Property, with a preeminent position in assisting clients in matters related with trademarks, patents, health registrations and transfer of technology. The two firms are now fully integrated and recently moved to new premises. The combined practices allow both firms to complement and support each other to provide to their clients a truly integral service.

This is Colombia’s first FTA with an Asian country. Colombia Grants Entry Permit Without Visa to Certain Asian Nationalities

What changed? Resolution 0572/2015 completely replaced Resolution 6588/2013, which regulates restricted and non-restricted nationals. What does this change mean? Brigard & Urrutia acted as local counsel to the underwriters in the largest ever cross-border debt offering of 30-year bonds by the Republic of Colombia. The Republic of Colombia issued USD $2,000,000,000 aggregate principal amount of 5.625% Global Bonds due 2044, which was two times oversubscribed, becoming Latin America’s largest sovereign financing transaction of 30-year bonds.
