Founded in 1990, Kocián Šolc Balaštík (KSB) is one of the largest law firms in the Czech Republic. Based in Prague and with over seventy lawyers and tax advisers, it is well placed to provide comprehensive legal and tax advice to domestic and foreign clients. Since its inception, KSB has carved out a reputation as a successful and independent law firm, fully able to compete with international law firms. KSB has been repeatedly awarded Law Firm of the Year in the Czech Republic by independent and highly prestigious rating agencies such as Chambers and Partners National Law Firm of the Year – Czech Republic (2008 and 2012). and Who’s Who Legal Law Firm of the Year in the Czech Republic (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009).Additionally, KSB was awarded the title of Leading National Law Firm of the Year 2012, Winner in the Competition Law category in the survey Leading Law Firm of the Year organized by EPRAVO.CZ under the professional auspices of the Czech Bar Association and in 2008 attained same award for the Czech Republic’s leading law firm in the field of corporate law. KSB advised Emerging Europe Properties Fund on the share-sale of WOTEG GWG-Group, owner of the Centro-Ostrava shopping park located approximately 6 from the capital of the Moravia-Silesia Region. WOTEG GWG-Group was purchased by FOCUS Estate Fund, which is a newly incorporated fund based in Cyprus. The Centro-Ostrava shopping park was built in 2011 and features approximately 7,700 m2 of retail space.
