He has been a Professor at the National University of Honduras, Law School, and at the Law School of the Catholic University of Honduras.
Mr. Rivera is a Certified Mediator and Arbitrator at the Center for Arbitration of the Tegucigalpa Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
During his practice he has acted as counsel for a general analysis of bankruptcy and secured transactions for the World Bank; advisor for the sale of assets of the largest cable TV company of the country, to the Amnet/Amzak group; advisor in commercial law issues for Sprint, LLC, General Electric Medical Systems and Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation;
Advisor for a credit operation in Honduras for the Export/Import Bank of Malaysia.
He is a member of the Boards of Directors of the leading group of media and communication companies in Honduras and of other leading companies in their fields, of which he is also their legal advisor.
In 2003, he advised the Honduran Insurers Association (CAHDA) in the negotiations of the Free Trade Agreement with the United States (DR CAFTA).

He has worked for the firm since 1995, and became a partner and member of the Corporate Practice Group in 2000.
In 1999, he was appointed as a Notary Public and granted his Juris Doctor degree by the Supreme Court of Justice, prior examination.

In 1994 he was granted a degree Summa Cum Laude as Bachelor of Science in Law and Social Sciences at the Law School of the National University of Honduras.
As a Fulbright Scholar in 2000, he was awarded a Master’s Degree in Laws (LL.M.) from The Law School, University of Chicago, United States of America.
