Mark has over 20 years of experience as a commercial litigator, with specialist knowledge and experience in banking and finance recoveries, creditors' remedies, receivership and insolvency law, relationship property disputes, and commercial and contract law. Mark represents major banking and financial institutions in New Zealand as well as many recievers and liquidators. He also has a significant practice representing clients in relationship property disputes. Mark also has extensive experience in other forms of dispute resolution with a particular emphasis on mediation. Mark has acted both as mediator and as counsel in numerous mediations involving commercial disputes.

-Advising a New Zealand bank in injunction proceedings brought by borrowers attempting to frustrate the bank from exercising its secured rights as a creditor

-Advising a State Owned Enterprise in various commercial/contract disputes with suppliers and contractors

-Advising a New Zealand finance company in relation to a dispute relating to its rights under foreign exchange contracts

-Advising a corporate client in litigation involving a dispute arising out of an agreement for the sale and purchase of a significant piece of real estate in Auckland

-Advising a New Zealand bank in relation to litigation involving issues of fraud and alleged breaches of fiduciary duty

-Advising a New Zealand bank in litigation involving the interpretation and application of the Proceeds of Crimes Act

-Acting for the Statutory Managers advising on aspects of the statutory management of a major financial institution

-Acting for a large number of receivers and liquidators advising on the full range of issues arising in receiverships and liquidations

-Acting for the court appointed receivers of an agricultural partnership

-Acting for a corporate client in a case before the Environment Court obtaining resource consent for the extension of industrial premises in a location regarded as an industrial/residential interface
