WSG Members Team Up at the 2010 Symposium Globalization for In-house and Outside Counsel
WSG Members working together as moderators and panelists to make the 2010 Symposium on Globalization for
In-house and Outside Counsel a success. Richard G. Goetz of Dykema and Carlos Velazquez de Leon of
Basham Ringe y Correa were two of the co-chairs for this event.
The Center for American International Law (CAIL) http://www.cailaw.org is a nonprofit institution dedicated to
the continuing education of lawyers and law enforcement officials in the United States and throughout the world.
Tens of thousands of lawyers and law enforcement officers from all 50 states and 128 countries have
participated in programs of the Center. Founded in 1947, The Center has earned a reputation for excellence
in education.
Much of The Center's work is accomplished through its eight educational institutes and many of our WSG
members are supporters of CAIL, Darrell Jordan from Dykema's Dallas office is a Trustee and Barry McNeil
from Haynes & Boone chairs the executive committee, Nina Cortell from Haynes and Boone, LLP is also a Trustee.
The Institute of International and comparative Law is the organization under CAIL that
sponsors both the Academy and Symposium, several WSG firms are members and many sit on the Advisory Board.
In addition to the Dacheng and Dykema representatives, they had other WSG members who were
leading the panels or served as one of the panelists were: Carlos Velazquez de Leon of Basham
Ringe y Correa, Francesco Gianni and students from Gianni, Origoni, Grippo & Partners, Larry B. Pascal
of Haynes and Boone, LLP and Jorge Carey of Carey y Cia. Several of the WSG sponsoring firms also sent
their own lawyers to the Academy.
