Profile

André Erasmus is an Executive at ENS in the Tax practice. He specialises in customs and excise, and international trade.

He has acted for clients in a diverse range of industries, including the banking, trade and retail industries, importers, exporters and local manufacturers.

André’s international trade experience includes anti-dumping, countervailing and safeguard measures, duty protection and relieve mechanisms, international trade agreements, and World Customs Organization and World Trade Organization agreements.

André co-authored the chapter on South Africa in Transfer Pricing and Customs Valuation, Two Worlds Apart published by IBFD. He has lectured on unfair trade at Stellenbosch University, and has presented seminars on the South African Customs Control and Customs Duty Bills, and on the implications of international commercial terms on customs, value-added tax, and exchange control. He has contributed to Business Law and Tax Review and has written various articles on customs and excise and international trade. He is a member of Business Unity South Africa’s task team on the Customs Control and Customs Duty Bills.
