Mrs. Kortenska is a Senior Counsel at the law firm of Boyanov & Co. She has been working with the firm for more than 20 years and has a total of 32 years of professional experience as legal counsel with expertise in bank privatization, M&A, financial and capital markets, regulatory regimes, energy and natural resources. She has been advising on a number of financial transactions and financial regulatory matters, data protection, e-commerce, financing and reorganization transactions. Some highlights of her experience include:
• Advice and representation before the Bulgarian National Bank in relation to the regulatory approvals of several acquisitions of the control over Bulgarian banks and foreign subsidiary banks in Bulgaria;
• Providing advice on the licensing procedures in the area of financial and securities regulatory rules (MiFIDI and MiFIDII, MiFIR, Prospectus Regulations, Transparency Directive and Transparency Regulations, market Abuse regulations);
• Advice to the European Investment Fund on its operations in Bulgaria;
• Acting as local counsel for the National Bank of Greece together with its international counsel Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer on the sale of its direct share participations in United Bulgarian Bank and Interlease, as well as in its indirect holdings in insurance, asset management and other Bulgarian subsidiaries and affiliates.
