Shepherd and Wedderburn Advise on Sale to EDF

March, 2014 - Edinburgh, Scotland

Shepherd and Wedderburn advised US firm Duke Energy and Norwegian owned Statkraft UK Limited on the sale of the Barmoor wind farm project to EDF.

The structure of the deal involved the sale of the entire issued share capital of Barmoor Wind Power Limited to EDF Energy Renewables Holdings Limited. Danny Lee, Corporate Partner, led the team advising Statkraft UK and Duke Energy, each holding a 50 per cent share in Barmoor Wind Power Limited which owned the six turbine Barmoor wind farm project. The site, between the villages of Ford and Lowick, near Berwick, is yet to be developed and is expected to have a capacity of 12 Mega Watts, which EDF estimates will meet the annual needs of approximately 6,400 homes once complete.
