WSG Announces First Ever Global Ambassador

September, 2015 - United States of America

As incoming Chair and on behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce that Robert Falvey will become WSG’s first Global Ambassador beginning September 14, 2015.

The new strategic plan adopted by the members in 2014, called for a reevaluation of the optimal structure for the organization and its leadership. In doing so, the Board of Directors found a unique opportunity within the governance of the organization. As former Managing Partner and current Senior International Counsel for Minter Ellison Rudd Watts, Robert brings global business acumen and a keen understanding of the inner workings and priorities of independent professional services firms. Additionally throughout 2014 – 2015, Robert has been serving as Chair of the Board for WSG where he has taken on additional executive responsibilities to fulfill the President role.

As Global Ambassador, Robert has agreed to a two-year, part-time commitment, during which time he will continue his efforts to build stronger member relationships, increase recruiting efforts in critical areas for the network and bring a renewed focus to developing investment banking and accounting membership. In addition to naming Robert as Global Ambassador, the Board named Maricarmen Trujillo as Chief Operating Officer and Jessica Ferdinand as Chief Marketing Officer. With this new team, the Board of Directors will continue to assess the future of the organization and ensure a clear succession plan.

The quality and commitment of WSG’s members have long been one of our most critical success factors. We know that in today’s market, leaders need to be engaged, asking questions and building an understanding of what is most important to the members – and then working to provide the environment and resources to help them thrive. The new team will be able to do just that.

“Success during this transition time demands a leadership team that brings together the strategic and operational skills to set a clear vision for the organization, lead members towards that vision and course correct as the market dictates. The executive team we have in place, along with the 2015 – 2016 Executive Committee and Board most assuredly will be able to achieve this,” Robert said.

The WSG Executive Committee and Board are thrilled to have someone with Robert’s global experience and commitment to the network taking on this pivotal new position. I look forward to serving as your Chair and working with Robert and the WSG team to continue to make WSG successful in the coming year.
