Autumn Highsmith is Sole Winner of Client Award for Texas Insolvency and Restructuring Counsel

February, 2017 - Dallas, Texas

Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Autumn Highsmith was the exclusive winner of the 2017 International Law Office (ILO) and Lexology Client Choice Award for insolvency and restructuring lawyers in Texas.

Established in 2005, the award recognizes law firms and partners around the world that provide excellent client care and add real value to their clients' businesses, above and beyond the other players in the market. Uniquely, law firms and partners can be nominated for the award only by corporate counsel.

“I am very proud of this award, because it is recognition by my clients of my continuing commitment to client service,” Highsmith said.

Highsmith is a member of Haynes and Boone’s Bankruptcy and Business Restructuring Practice Group. She has spent her career representing debtors, secured creditors, unsecured creditors, administrative agents, lessors, asset purchasers, and other parties in complex bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy restructuring matters and advising corporate clients in their business dealings with financially distressed counterparties.

Highsmith has handled many aviation bankruptcy matters and serves as go-to counsel for her aviation clients. She served as special counsel to American Airlines and its affiliates in their chapter 11 bankruptcies during which she assisted with the renegotiation of many of American Airlines’ purchasing, marketing, human resources and intellectual property agreements and real estate leases.

She won another honor earlier this year when she was elected to membership in the Fellows of the Texas Bar Foundation. Fellows are selected for their outstanding professional achievements and demonstrated commitment to the improvement of the justice system throughout Texas. Only one-third of one percent of Texas State Bar members are invited to become fellows.
