Symposium on Emerging Issues in International Arbitration

SyCipLaw Partner, Ricardo Ma. P.G. Ongkiko led a panel discussion on Emergency Arbitration at the Symposium on Emerging Issues in International Arbitration held on March 23, 2017. The symposium was sponsored by the Asia Pacific Forum for International Arbitration (AFIA), the Philippine Institute of Arbitrators (PIArb), and the Philippine Chapter of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), East Asia Branch.

The symposium is part of the regular PIArb/CIArb Philippine Chapter Monthly Fellowship, which aims to provide arbitrators, arbitration counsel, and other ADR practitioners with an opportunity to get to know each other and learn from invited international and domestic ADR experts. The featured speaker for March was Iain Potter, a forensic accountant who has been engaged as an independent expert in international court and arbitral proceedings.

Ricardo Ma. P.G. Ongkiko heads SyCipLaw’s Litigation Department and is the current president of PiArb. He is an accredited arbitrator of the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc. (PDRCI) and the Construction Industry Arbitration Commission (CIAC). He has extensive experience in international and domestic arbitration dealing with commercial and construction disputes.
