Shoosmiths proud of firm-wide recognition in this year’s Legal 500

October, 2017 - Milton Keynes, England

National law firm Shoosmiths has achieved top tier rankings in 31 practice areas in this year's The Legal 500 directory, with a further 66 practice areas recommended.

A total of 27 lawyers are also named in the elite Leading Lawyers list, while The Legal 500 United Kingdom 2017 editorial features 227 Shoosmiths lawyers.

Tier one rankings are evident across the board in commercial, corporate, real estate and recoveries services and Shoosmiths’ health and safety practice in Birmingham and its commercial property team in Manchester (established in the city six years ago) were ranked tier one for the first time. The firm’s private client arm, Access Legal Solicitors, was also described as ‘the leading specialist clinical negligence firm in the country’ according to some clients the directory spoke with.

Shoosmiths' chief executive, Claire Rowe, said recognition of the breadth and scope of Shoosmiths’ expertise reinforced its leading national law firm reputation.

“We are really proud of these Legal 500 results, both for the firm as a whole and for those individuals whose work is recognised in the directories,” Claire commented.

“We believe this is another example of how we are meeting our goal to be the leading national law firm famous for its client experience, underpinned by our exceptional people with strength and depth of expertise and footprint.

“We would like to thank everybody at Shoosmiths for their hard work, which is reflected in these results.”

The Legal 500 rankings are an important third-party reference guide to the legal sector across the country. Its thorough research of all law firms means it is trusted and used by fellow legal practitioners such as General Counsel (GC) of many of the top FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies, journalists, students and the wider business community.

Shoosmiths has an extensive client base advising many household names, blue chip companies, leading financial institutions, public and private sector organisations and foreign-owned corporates across the UK and, increasingly, internationally too.
