Ricardo Oliveira is a partner in the EU, Competition and Regulation Department of PLMJ.
He his a graduate of the University of Lisbon Law School and holds an LLM in EU law by the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.
Ricardo has been practising competition law for nearly 15 years, with a particular focus on defence in cartel matters, litigation, merger control and implementation of anti-trust compliance programmes. His practice covers a wide range of industries, including food, pharmaceuticals, air transport, energy, financial services and media. Ricardo's regular Clients include a number of international market leaders in those industries.
Ricardo extensive experience of EU and competition affairs has not only been built in private practice, but also in public institutions. Before joining PLMJ, Ricardo has worked at the Chambers of the President of the Court of First Instance of the European Communities in Luxembourg and at the European Commission in Brussels.
Ricardo has published several articles on Portuguese competition law in specialised reviews. He has lectured competition law at the National Institute for Administration and is a frequent speaker at competition law conferences.
