Simon is a partner in the firm's EU and competition law practice. He has extensive experience advising on competition law compliance, merger control, competition investigations and litigation.
As well as working with businesses to develop and implement effective compliance programmes for their staff, Simon regularly provides advice on the competition law considerations arising from clients' day-to-day commercial arrangements.
Simon deals with the OFT, the Competition Commission and the European Commission on behalf of companies under investigation, merging companies and complainants. He has advised in relation to cases before the General Court of the European Union in Luxembourg, as well as on competition investigations in a number of other jurisdictions, in Europe and elsewhere, including in so-called "dawn raids" by competition authorities.
Simon's experience extends across a broad range of industries including food and beverages, brewing, clothing, video games, retail, wholesale and retail banking, insurance, infrastructure and transport.
Simon joined Shoosmiths from Hogan Lovells at the beginning of 2012. During the course of his career as a competition lawyer, he has spent four years working in Brussels. Simon is recognised in the Chambers & Partners UK directory 2012.
