Keynote Presentation: Marketing Workshop Session: Using Public Relations Strategies to Drive Collaborative Business Success – An Interactive Workshop
Using a combination of lecture, individual participation, audience participation, and real-time brainstorming and feedback, this interactive workshop helped lawyers and legal marketing professionals understand how to leverage public relations and best practices for amplifying awareness of the WSG brand while strengthening and enhancing their own. In today’s digital world, public relations is a practice that no lawyer can afford to ignore. Employed effectively, public relations will raise awareness about a law firm and its legal services and position lawyers to influence key audiences, including current and prospective clients and talent, referring counsel, alumni of the firm, members of the media, and other decision-makers. For WSG member firms, there is an even greater opportunity to leverage the power of the WSG network to create new prospects, develop relevant and quality prospects, and elevate perception collaboratively among practice areas, regions and like firms – all supporting common business success.
Comprised of two of Lawdragon’s Top 100 Global Leaders in Legal Strategy, a former international journalist, and an international legal business leader, each seasoned faculty member will offer unique expertise and perspective for a very interactive workshop. A more than 20-year veteran, Gina Rubel is a former litigator, Chambers and Partners ranked public relations expert, and wrote the book on public relations for lawyers. She discussed practical strategies for lawyers to maximize their participation in public and media relations efforts. Francois Lassalle is an international business leader who has worked at Dentons, Linklaters and the British Virgin Islands International Arbitration Center. He discussed how to use communications to position law firms and lawyers in competitive markets. Jennifer Simpson Carr has served as an in-house business development leader for Am Law 200 law firms. She addressed best practices for leveraging public and media relations to support client and talent retention and acquisition. Former international journalist for German, Polish, and Spanish media outlets, Lukasz Walewski addressed best practices for developing relationships with local, regional and international journalists to reach your firm’s target audience.
