Ramon is our managing partner. He has been a partner since 2002, having initially joined the legacy firm of Clarke &Co. in 1997.
As the partner in charge of our litigation department, he is a highly experienced commercial litigator and advisor on banking, corporate, commercial and general business matters. His corporate and commercial services include advising international lawyers and local clients in connection with banking and financial transactions, labour and insolvency issues.
Ramon has represented clients throughout the Eastern Caribbean and was involved in successfully litigating some of the largest commercial claims in Barbados to proceed through full trial. He represents and advises members of the “Big Four” accounting firms, and in that capacity has litigated many of the major insolvency matters that have gone to trial.
Outside of the firm, Ramon is an active participant in both the private and public sector business community in Barbados, being a past chairman of the Sanitation Service Authority and a director of the Transport Authority which operates the public transport system. He also chairs the board of trustees operating the Government sponsored Industrial and Employment Fund, which was created to finance and stimulate the manufacturing industry in Barbados.
Ramon graduated with an LL.B from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, in 1989. He obtained his Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad & Tobago in 1991 and was admitted to the Bar in Barbados that same year.
In 2010, he received his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the of
University of Liverpool in the UK.
