Profile

Lisa has more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry. Prior to becoming a lawyer, she worked for several years in project management and engineering for Turner Construction Company holding various field and office positions. During that time, she completed millions of dollars worth of work-in-place for the core-and-shell and tenant improvement divisions in the following sectors: hospitals and other healthcare and senior care facilities, laboratories, retail space, office towers, high-rise residential, and light industrial.

Lisa's construction field experience provides her with a deeper perspective and understanding of the construction process making her invaluable in assisting our construction clients' legal and business needs. The primary focus of her transactional practice is advising owners, designers, contractors or project teams regarding multi-million dollar design and construction deal structures utilizing collaborative and integrated delivery processes. She also drafts bid documents, contracts, and BIM protocols for large private and public works, including contract documents for public-private partnerships (P3), Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC), and Design-Build. Lisa is experienced with public procurement processes, HUD and USDA guidelines and protocols, and has international contract experience. On the claims side, she has experience advising clients regarding resolution of a variety of legal issues including contract disputes, claims and delay analysis, termination, default, mechanic liens and stop payment notice claims, defects and alternative dispute resolution. Lisa has a reputation for successfully working with clients to resolve claims and conflicts as they arise, in an attempt to avoid litigation, through business and legal negotiations.

Lisa developed California Women in Design + Construction™ (CWDC), an organization of professional women in the design and construction industry that hosts forums to discuss relevant topics and to provide networking opportunities.
