Kathy is a commercial real estate lawyer with over 25 years’ experience, with particular focus on retail, development and portfolio management work. Kathy has been recognised by Chambers UK Legal Directory as a leader in her field since 2006.

Kathy’s recent experience includes advising:

• a well known Midlands developer on the set up of a new business park of strategic importance to the West Midlands, a pre-let of circa 440,800 sq ft manufacturing unit to a PLC and its forward funding by an institutional investor;
• the largest private property company in England on the redevelopment, letting and sale of a City office of 62,789 sq ft of "best in class" Grade A office space arranged over lower ground and six upper floors;
• the sale of a new Grade A industrial facility of 135,803 sq ft and new (to be developed) distribution warehouse comprising 129,550 sq ft on an overall site area of 13. 87 acres; and
• the lease of a redeveloped shop comprising 13,691 sq ft on Oxford Street, London to an international retailer for its flagship store in the UK.

Kathy joined Shoosmiths in 2015 from SGH Martineau LLP where she was head of retail. She is a trustee of the Orchestra of the Swan and acts as a business mentor for start-up businesses under the Princes Trust scheme.
