Profile

Benjamin graduated from the Singapore Management University's ("SMU") Juris Doctor program in 2016, having previously completed a degree in Economics at SMU. He was admitted to the Singapore bar in 2017 and joined TSMP's litigation practice that same year. Benjamin has represented clients across diverse industries in a variety of civil matters in the High Court as well as in the Court of Appeal involving shareholder disputes, claims for breach of fiduciary duties and breach of trust, minority oppression, breach of shareholders’ agreements, and other commercial disputes.

Benjamin also routinely advises companies on insolvency-related matters, including schemes of arrangement and judicial management. Benjamin has also co-authored recent editions of the Singapore chapter on Restructuring & Insolvency for Getting the Deal Through. His background in Economics gives him a keen understanding of business considerations, and he is able to discern issues quickly and communicate his thoughts clearly and effectively to clients.

During his time at SMU, Benjamin was part of the Philip C. Jessup Moot team (2016), as well as the team that reached the finals of the inaugural Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot (2015). After graduating, Benjamin helped coach SMU's team that won the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot in 2017.

Benjamin is also an active volunteer with the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme, and regularly gives his time to Community Legal Clinics.
