Bernhard Heinzl joined DORDA's IT/IP team 2013. During his studies in Vienna, Copenhagen and Cambridge Bernhard specialized on Intellectual Property law and IT law. His main areas of expertise now lie in these areas.

- Representation of Echosens SA in patent and trademark proceedings before the Criminal and Commercial Court of Vienna and the EUIPO against a Chinese competitor
- He defends M7 Group SA in copyright proceedings concerning satellite distribution from abroad against an Austrian collecting rights society
- Bernhard has advised the Allianz-Group regarding the implementation of a comprehensive Open Source project concerning a software for the insurance industry
- Representation of TTTech Group in negotiations with Samsung regarding a License and Development Agreement for the implementation of a strategic partnership
- Bernhard further advises and represents leading banks and insurance companies in the course of IT-Outsourcing projects


Bernhard is a lecturer at the University of Vienna and at the University of Applied Sciences Campus02 Graz, as well as at several other institutes of further education

In principle, the author of a work protected by copyright has an exclusive right to reproduce or copy it. In Austria, however, anyone has the right to make copies of such works for private use. Originally, the legislator had scenarios in mind where people recorded music from the radio with their stereo system and a blank tape cassette, or recorded films via a video recorder. Collecting societies collect a levy as compensation for this private copying right...
