Profile

Alejandra has over 8 years of experience in the legal profession. She specializes in Banking & Finance and Financial Advisory where provides advice on international financial transactions, complex loan agreements, and trust agreements. Regarding prudential regulation for financial institutions, she provides advice on risk management issues, corporate governance, and money laundering prevention. Alejandra joined BLP as an associate in 2015, after working as an assistant and lawyer at the Law Department of Banco de Costa Rica for eight years. Alejandra obtained her Law degree from Universidad de Costa Rica in 2009 and has a Master’s degree in Economic Law with a minor in International Trade from Universidad Estatal a Distancia, from 2012. She also has a specialization in Tax from Universidad Fundepos, where she graduated in 2015. She has been a lecturer on legal risks at several congresses and was a member of the Institutional Committee for the Selection and Elimination of Documents of the Financial Conglomerate of BCR. Latin Lawyer, a prestigious legal magazine, has mentioned Alejandra for advising Banco de Costa Rica in the underwriting of the first syndicated loan for $125 million in 2014, and the first international issue of bonds for $500 million in 2013. Alejandra currently lives in Heredia, Costa Rica.
