Profile

Alex Thrasher is a litigator in the Construction Practice Group who advises owners and contractors in the successful completion of projects and resolution of complex construction disputes.

For 10 years prior to practicing law, Alex worked for various contractors as a project manager and advisor on various topics. He gained first-hand experience managing construction projects in the power generation, water and wastewater, oil and gas, and pulp and paper industries. Alex draws on that experience to bring a practical view to all cases on which he is engaged and achieve successful outcomes that advance each client’s business interests to the fullest extent possible.

Alex routinely advises clients on all aspects of claim development and resolution and, when possible, dispute avoidance. When cases must be resolved through litigation or arbitration, he combines practicality with strategy to formulate and execute efficient and effective dispute resolutions. Alex is adept at managing cases throughout all phases of proceedings, and he has tried numerous cases through final verdict or award in state and federal courts and in arbitration proceedings before the AAA and ICC.

His broad litigation experience includes disputes involving construction defects, project delays, differing site conditions, change orders and directives, contract termination, lien and bond claims, and insurance coverage issues. His experience also spans numerous industries, including healthcare, renewable energy and conventional power generation, product manufacturing, and commercial and retail development.

Alex also advises clients on a range of other legal matters, including corporate structuring and management, strategic business and project planning, asset purchases, and contract drafting, negotiation, and administration.
