Profile

Alexander Sorton is an associate in our Corporate/M&A and Banking team, at Walder Wyss, Geneva. He advises Swiss and foreign companies, banks, and financial institutions, on transactions and corporate law matters, as well as on regulatory aspects related to their activities.

Alexander Sorton holds a Bachelor in International Relations (2008) and a Bachelor of Laws (2014), both from the University of Geneva. Between 2008 and 2012, he notably worked for various banks including a prominent trade-finance banking institution in Geneva. Alexander Sorton obtained a Bilingual Master in Economic Law (summa cum laude), issued by the universities of Basel and Geneva (2016). He went on an academic exchange to Zurich, during his Bachelor of Laws, and to Hong Kong, during his Master degree. Alexander Sorton also attended Duke University, in North Carolina, where he obtained an LL.M. as well as a Business Law Certificate. He passed the New York Bar Exam on the same year (2017). Alexander Sorton successfully sat the Geneva Bar Exam in November 2019.

Alexander Sorton is fluent both in French and English. He has good working knowledge of German. He is registered with the Geneva Bar and the New York Bar.
