Alistair is Special Counsel in our Financial Services team. He has a wealth of experience in financial services and banking regulation, managed funds, regulatory investigations and enquires, and conduct and culture related matters.

Alistair began his career in the United Kingdom. Upon moving to New Zealand in 2012, he was a Senior Solicitor at MinterEllisonRuddWatts, Alistair was Head of Compliance at ANZ Bank New Zealand before his return to the firm in 2020. As Head of ANZ’s regulatory compliance team, Alistair led a team of compliance managers providing compliance expertise and oversight across the full range of New Zealand financial services and banking regulation. He was also responsible for ANZ New Zealand’s regulatory affairs function, including responsibility for managing regulatory enquiries and investigations, and regulatory engagement.
