Profile

Felicity leads a team specialising in consumer protection law, working with some of the most leading and iconic brands on high profile, business critical matters. She supports a range of clients, from start-ups to established multinational organisations on consumer law compliance across a range of sectors.

Felicity has extensive experience advising on consumer law considerations arising from clients' day-to-day commercial arrangements, including: preparing consumer facing terms and notices, advising on marketing strategies, website compliance and e-commerce projects, and delivering in-house training workshops. Felicity's priority is to ensure her clients stay ahead of the game in, what is, a heavily regulated and constantly evolving sector.

She is regularly asked to advise clients on navigating complex and developing areas of consumer and e-commerce law, appreciating the importance of working closely with her colleagues in the Regulatory and Financial Services teams, in order to provide seamless turnkey advice.

Felicity has completed several client secondments across different sectors including working with several global car manufacturers and global logistic companies where she supported them in the launch of their e-commerce sales platforms. Felicity therefore has a full appreciation of the commercial and creative solutions that an in-house legal team comes to expect from their lawyers and is driven by (and experienced in) providing clients with pragmatic innovative solutions to maximise their commercial opportunity whilst protecting against risk.

Felicity's most recent experience includes:

  • providing comprehensive advice on the development of globally compliant consumer e-commerce offerings across Hilton Grand Vacations timeshare member sites, rental sites, and marketing platforms
  • advising global automotive clients on the launch of their online vehicle sales platforms
  • providing pragmatic advice to support leading PCR testing providers in navigating changes to consumer law following COVID-19
  • advising a leading online retailer on its sale terms and conditions with a particular focus on advising on the European application of the terms and the Client’s obligations with respect to bearing import duties on international sales and in the event of a return

Felicity read law at the University of Birmingham gaining a 1st class degree and completed her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law Birmingham with distinction in 2011.

Felicity joined Shoosmiths as a trainee solicitor in 2012 and qualified into the Commercial team in September 2014.
