George Barber advises and represents a broad range of clients in all forms of commercial bankruptcy related issues and disputes. Typical bankruptcy matters include plans of reorganization, confirmation hearings, liquidations, asset sales, compromises and settlements, cash collateral use, DIP financing, adequate protection, valuations, jurisdictional issues, dismissals and conversions, discharge and dischargeability, avoidance actions, and all other forms of contested matter and adversary proceeding litigation in bankruptcy, and related appeals. George’s clients have included numerous commercial, mezzanine and ABL lenders, unsecured creditors, lessors, lessees, CMBS special servicers, landlords, tenants, asset purchasers, committees, trustees, and examiners. Representative industries include banking, real estate, retail, restaurants, hospitality, healthcare, oil and gas, aviation, construction, manufacturing, interstate trucking, power generation, municipal finance, and telecommunications.

George also represents numerous clients in workouts and foreclosures outside of bankruptcy, including restructurings, forbearances, bankruptcy planning, repossessions, lease terminations, assignments and conveyances, assignments for the benefit of creditors, receiverships, and real and personal property foreclosures.

Before entering the practice of law, George was a workout banker at one of the largest banks in Texas, where he received formal credit training and spent several years managing and conducting commercial and industrial, real estate, and oil and gas loan workouts, foreclosures, bankruptcies, and litigation.
