Profile
Rodolphe Gautier heads the Dispute Resolution practice of Geneva. He has more than 15 years of experience working in litigation and arbitration. His practice focuses on commercial and banking disputes in Switzerland and international arbitration involving Swiss-connected parties, assets, substantive law or seats of arbitration. He frequently acts for multinationals, domestic companies and individuals before civil and criminal courts and arbitral tribunals. His practice also includes applications for pre-emptive relief to locate and freeze assets and preserve evidence.

Additionally, Rodolphe Gautier handles white collar crime proceedings, often assisting corporations and executives in criminal prosecutions and international mutual assistance. He provides strategic and tactical advice in pre-litigation phases. He also acts as external counsel to multinationals and financial services providers in international investigations, compliance audits and reporting of suspicious transactions to the Money Laundering Reporting Office (MROS). He assists clients in their investigations of potential money laundering activities, notably in Art and in Sport.

Born in 1976, Rodolphe Gautier was educated at Fribourg University (lic. iur. 1998, Master in Law and in European Law, with distinction). He spent part of his traineeship with the Geneva Civil Courts and in a well-known Geneva law firm. Prior to joining Walder Wyss, he worked in Geneva (and Singapore as foreign associate) in an international law firm of which he became a partner in 2009.

Since several years, the international directory Who"s Who Legal consistently describes him as "an outstanding practitioner with a formidable reputation in the Swiss asset recovery market who provides client with excellent insight on a wide range of issues". He is also recommended ("thorough and strategic") in the Legal 500 and Best Lawyers Clients Guides for his "well known" litigation practice.

Rodolphe Gautier speaks French and English. He is registered with both the Geneva Bar Association and the Swiss Bar Association and is admitted to practice in all Switzerland. He is also registered and admitted to practice as foreign lawyer with the Singapore International Commercial Court. He is on the list of arbitrators of ICC (Switzerland) and of SIAC (Singapore) and a member of the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA) and of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (MSiarb). He sits on the Legal Board of the Swiss Sailing Federation.
