Profile

Brian excels at providing clear and simple solutions to complex problems. Brian represents clients before the Maine PUC, Massachusetts DPU, FERC, and other local and state agencies in Maine and throughout New England.

In addition to his regulatory practice, Brian has significant appellate experience and has drafted briefs for clients before the Maine Supreme Court, Massachusetts Supreme Court, U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and U.S. Supreme Court.

Before joining Verrill, Brian served as a law clerk to the justices of the Maine Superior Court in Portland. While clerking, he co-authored a chapter in A Practical Guide to Evidence in Maine.

Brian is co-author of the second edition of Verrill's Maine Regulation of Public Utilities and a regular contributor to Verrill's energy blog, Energy Law Update.
