Clarence Webster has a diverse law practice providing legal counsel and representation to a broad range of clients in a variety of litigation matters, including complex commercial litigation, product liability and mass tort litigation, and appellate litigation. Clarence also has experience litigating real estate matters and has served as a member of the national coordinating counsel team for a large equipment manufacturer.

In addition, Clarence provides legal counsel and representation to employers. He has drafted employment contracts; participated in audits and investigations by state agencies and the Department of Labor; provided guidance and recommendations regarding employment decisions; drafted employee handbooks; drafted corporate bylaws; and overseen employment litigation as outside general counsel. 

He has participated in cases venued in federal and state trial and appellate courts in Mississippi, Tennessee, Florida, Louisiana, Arkansas, Illinois, California, Wisconsin, Delaware, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Alabama, and has successfully handled appeals in Mississippi and Wisconsin. 

Clarence has been recognized by Mid-South Super Lawyers since 2013. He is A/V Preeminent Rated by the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings System. He was also listed in Portico Jackson magazine’s Portico 10 for 2016. Clarence is a Fellow of the American Bar Association, and a member of the invite-only International Association of Defense Counsel.

Clarence currently serves as editor of the Mississippi Lawyer and as a member of the Mississippi Bar Association’s Ethics Committee. He previously served as chair of the Mississippi Bar’s Litigation Section’s Executive Committee and as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee. He is also president of the Capital Area Bar Association and is a member of the Magnolia Bar, for which he has served as membership chair.

Clarence is actively involved in the Jackson community, having served as chair of the I.S. Sanders YMCA Board and as a member of the Central Mississippi Ole Miss Alumni Association Executive Board, Phoenix Club of Jackson, and the Century Club Charities. He is currently a member of The 100 Black Men of Jackson, the Central Mississippi Down Syndrome Society Board, and the Rotary Club of Jackson.
