David is a partner in the Jersey corporate group. His practice covers a broad area of Jersey corporate law, with a particular focus on M&A (both private and public, including via members' schemes of arrangement), downstream private equity, corporate real estate and equity capital markets transactions. 

David also advises Jersey corporate clients on their debt and restructuring transactions and is frequently retained to provide corporate governance and strategic and special situations advice to the boards of Jersey companies.

David is recognised as:

• a 'Next Generation Partner' in the 2023 edition of Legal 500 UK
• 'Up and Coming' in the 2023 edition of Chambers UK 

David joined Carey Olsen in 2010, having trained and qualified as a solicitor in Scotland with Shepherd and Wedderburn LLP. He is a graduate of the University of Glasgow (LL.B; 2007) and the Glasgow Graduate School of Law (Dip. L.P., 2008). He is an Advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey and also a member of the Law Society of Scotland (Solicitor; currently non-practising).
