Diego Abadia is an Associate at Morgan & Morgan and currently works in the Maritime Litigation practice group. Mr. Abadia specializes in all aspects of maritime disputes, resolutions and claims including: collision, cargo, oil spill pollution, charter party disputes, and ship mortgage executions, among others.
Prior to joining Morgan & Morgan, Mr. Abadia acquired his experience as a lawyer in the Panama Canal Authority (ACP), where he had the opportunity to handle legal matters within the areas of contracts and maritime law. In the ACP, Mr. Abadia had the opportunity to participate in hearings related to marine accident investigations, negotiations to finalize maritime claims, answer inquiries on the interpretation and application of the internal regulations of the company, among other important aspects.
Mr. Abadia is also involved in pro bono activities at the firm regularly assisting to Legal Open Houses organized by the firm in low-income communities to provide free legal orientation.
Mr. Abadia graduated with honors from the Law and Political Science faculty at Universidad Santa Maria La Antigua in Panama. He went on to obtain a Masters in Law (LLM) at Duke University, Durham, NC, United States and after that a Masters in Maritime Law at the School of Law at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, United States.
