Elisabeth leads the Van Doorne Privacy Team. She is also a member of the Van Doorne Cyber Security Team.

With her Privacy Team Elisabeth focuses on all privacy related matters, both compliance and contentious matters. The team advises in areas that include the impact of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), data breach notification duties, the transfer of personal data outside of the European Economic Area (EEA), privacy and cookie statements, data processing agreements, the role of the works council, whistleblowing schemes, monitoring the use of internet and e-mail, and DM campaigns. Elisabeth is also an expert in the field of e-commerce and consumer law related aspects.

Elisabeth publishes and is a regular speaker on privacy- and IT related topics. Her 1991 PhD thesis "Software, een 'novum' in het vermogensrecht" addressed software as a novelty in property law, reviewing considerations on the position occupied by software copyrights in property law. She has authored a variety of other books on subjects including privacy (2010), IT contracts (2010), open source (2006), e-commerce (2001) and the Y2K problem (1998). Elisabeth is a member of the editorial team of the professional journals "Privacy & Informatie" (privacy and information) and "Tijdschrift voor Internetrecht" (internet law journal).

Elisabeth is member of the Netherlands Privacy Law Association (Vereniging voor Privacyrecht), the Netherlands Association for Information Technology and Law (NVvIR), the ITechlaw Association and the Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA), where she is Vice-President of the Data Protection Commission. She is a former board member of the Netherlands Association of IT lawyers: Vereniging Informaticarecht Advocaten (VIRA).

Elisabeth is top ranked in various international guides: Chambers Europe (Band 1), Legal 500 EMEA (Tier 1), Expert Guide "Women in Business Law", and "International Who is Who of Internet, E-commerce & Data Protection Lawyers".
