Elizabeth Mitchell defends financial institutions and mortgage companies in civil litigation against claims of predatory lending, wrongful foreclosure, breach of contract, and deceptive trade practices. Elizabeth also assists her clients in resolving real property controversies across the country involving REO properties. In addition to handling litigation matters for her financial services clients, she advises clients on a variety of regulatory compliance issues under both federal and state law and assists with internal risk assessment.

Elizabeth’s litigation practice also has included the representation of corporate defendants in matters involving pharmaceutical products liability litigation and employment discrimination. She has experience defending pharmaceutical companies against failure to warn and other product liability claims in Alabama and in federal courts, and experience defending corporate clients against a variety of employment actions, including national origin discrimination, sex discrimination, and retaliatory discharge actions.
