LoBiondo represents clients in complex commercial disputes and appeals, as well as in matters adverse to government entities.  Prior to joining Patterson Belknap, Mr. LoBiondo served as a law clerk to the Hon. John F. Keenan of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Complex Commercial Litigation
Defend innovator pharmaceutical company against antitrust claims brought by a competitor relating to the innovator’s blockbuster biologic drug.  Also representing the innovator client in follow-on actions brought by direct and indirect purchasers.

Representation of financial guaranty insurers in structured finance litigation involving student loans and residential mortgage-backed securities.

Defend manufacturers of pharmaceutical and consumer products against actions by state attorneys general asserting consumer protection, unfair trade practices, or antitrust claims.

Represented medical device manufacturer in False Claims Act litigation, resulting in dismissal with prejudice.

White Collar Defense and Investigations
Investigations and representations of large entities in connection with potential allegations arising under the False Claims Act; the Federal Trade Commission Act; the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act; the Consumer Financial Protection Act; the Anti-Kickback Statute; the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act; and other federal laws.

Representation of individuals subject to investigation and potential prosecution by the Department of Justice.

Investigation on behalf of a university into a sensitive data breach and leak of highly confidential documents.

Experience briefing First Amendment, antitrust, arbitration, and consumer protection issues to federal and state appellate courts.
