Profile

Giselle Reuben has spent most of her fourteen-year legal career specializing in Intellectual Property. As a leader with extensive knowledge in her field, she has won recognition from a number of eminent international publications including The Legal 500, Chambers & Partners, Latin Lawyer and Who’s Who Legal. The publications agree that Giselle is vigilant and capable regarding the registration, protection, and defense of intellectual property rights, as well as the representation of clients in complex litigation of trademarks and copyrights, anti-counterfeiting, and more. Additionally, she advises on Regulatory Law matters such as the sanitary and phytosanitary registration of products before State Authorities in the region. Giselle joined BLP in 2006 as an Associate and was named a Partner in 2014. She was previously head of the Intellectual Property Department at the law firm, Feinzaig, Scharf & Van der Putten. In 2007 Giselle was a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Costa Rican Intellectual Property Professionals Association (APPICR). She has served on the Board of Directors of the National Biodiversity Institute (INBIO), and is a member of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Costa Rica Bar Association. Giselle has also been a Director of the Intellectual Property Sub-Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce. At present, she is a member of the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property as well as the International Trademark Association. Giselle is based in San José, Costa Rica.
