Profile

Guillermo has enjoyed 5 years of experience in the legal profession, specializing in Intellectual Property, where he advises all types of organizations in connection with the registration, protection, and defense of their intellectual property rights; and Sanitary Registry of Products, assisting companies in product registration issues before the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture. Guillermo joined BLP as an Associate in 2013. He previously worked as a legal assistant and associate at ACZALAW for four years, and at Nassar Abogados and Corporación Jurex. Guillermo received his Law degree from the Universidad de Costa Rica in 2012 and has a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property from the Universidad Estatal a Distancia (UNED). He successfully completed the programs of the Moot Court Competition: “Víctor Carlos García Moreno” of the Latin American Council on International Comparative Law in Mexico and of the Inter-American Moot Court of Human Rights of Washington College of Law, American University. Guillermo is a former president of the Costa Rican Association of International Law and a member of the Costa Rican Association of Intellectual Property Professionals. He has also written several legal pieces and opinions for El Financiero newspaper. Guillermo is currently on leave pursuing a Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property and Competition Law at the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center in Germany.
