Profile

Hayley is a Legal Director in the London office of the Shoosmiths Corporate Restructuring and Advisory team.

Hayley advises on both contentious and non-contentious restructuring and insolvency matters but has a particular focus on contentious insolvency and co-leads the team's contentious insolvency practice.

  • advising a group of opposing creditors who successfully challenged a proposed scheme of arrangement issued by Sunbird Business Services Limited in relation to $15m of debt;
  • acting for the directors of the Great Annual Savings Company in the heavily contested Part 26A Restructuring Plan;
  • continuing to advise the liquidators of the Food Retailer Operations Limited in relation to a range of antecedent transaction claims;
  • acting for a variety of officeholders in considering, and pursuing, former directors of failed companies for misfeasance claims
  • advising the administrators, and subsequent liquidators, of the UK subsidiaries of the Swiss Petroplus group;
