Profile

Imogen is a straight-talking, pragmatic and personable intellectual property lawyer. She is described as “first class” by her clients who praise her “professionalism”, “accessible working style” and “faultless knowledge”.

Imogen’s main focus is helping innovative technology companies and universities with agreements concerning the creation, development, protection and commercialisation of technology. Her extensive in-house experience working within such organisations means that she always provides focused and pragmatic advice in plain English.

Imogen has particular experience acting for software companies and, as an Ambassador to Birmingham’s Silicon Canal tech hub, actively supports young technology companies driving the region’s technology ecosystem.

Imogen also advises in relation to advertising, brand protection and marketing issues, including Advertising Standards Authority complaints.

Recent examples of Imogen’s work include:

  • drafting and negotiating large volumes of R&D and technology transfer contracts for busy legal departments of a Russell Group University, acting as a seamless extension of their legal and commercial teams;

  • advising Shuttercraft Limited (t/a S:Craft) on various IP and software issues that arose during the sale of Shuttercraft Limited to private equity house, Beechbrook Capital including the protection and further development of retained IP;

  • drafting and negotiating various brand licences for McDonald’s with its key commercial partners; and

  • advising Lundbeck Limited in relation to a variety of IP heavy consultant, distribution and supply agreements concerning pharmaceutical products.

Imogen qualified in 2013 and previously worked at SGH Martineau (now Shakespeare Martineau).
