Profile

Jaci is a highly skilled litigator with a strong track record in handling intellectual property litigation and disputes.  She works closely with clients to develop a strategy, and consistently achieves successful outcomes in disputes across the spectrum of intellectual property, including licensing, patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, false advertising and unfair competition.  In particular, she has handled patent infringement matters across a variety of services and products, including software-related, corrugated packaging, surgical devices, emergency medical equipment, construction templates, LED applications, metal beverage cans and closures, liquid beverage concentrates and related packaging, and hummingbird feeders.  She’s represented clients as both plaintiffs and defendants in over 30 federal trial cases, in appellate courts, and in front of the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

She also has a wide range of complex commercial litigation experience.  She understands complex litigation is often time-intensive, yet she uses a methodical approach to learn her clients’ objectives and then manages the often large cases closely for an efficient and practical resolution.  Additionally, in her prior work serving as in-house counsel for a Fortune 500 financial services institution, she learned the importance of approaching matters flexibly and creatively while communicating concisely and directly, and her clients recognize the value these intangible skills bring to their matters.

Jaci is also an active member of the firm and community. She is vice chair of Dinsmore’s IP Litigation and Enforcement Practice Group, vice chair of the Firm’s Associate Evaluation Committee, and is Vice Chair of the non-profit organization Dress for Success.  While in law school, she won numerous leadership awards in part for her role as editor-in-chief of the Ohio State Law Journal and was an extern for Judge Jeffrey Sutton on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Prior to going to law school, Jaci worked as a business analyst at the headquarters of both Target Corporation and Limited Brands, and she leverages her business background to develop solutions-oriented approaches to handling issues for clients.
