Profile

Jaclyn represents clients in a wide variety of labor and employment matters.

Jaclyn’s experience includes both federal and state court actions, federal and state administrative actions and investigations with agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), the US Department of Labor and various state’s Departments of Labor. Her involvement includes motion practice, managing large-scale discovery projects, analyzing pay data in wage and hour actions, and trial experience. She also counsels employers on wage and hour issues, family and medical leave issues, employment policies and handbooks, pre-employment screening, fair credit reporting, restrictive covenants and transactional aspects of labor and employment law.

Throughout law school Jaclyn spent four years as a Case Law Clerk with Hunton Andrews Kurth working in many practices including Labor & Employment, Bankruptcy & Restructuring, and Litigation including Energy, Commercial Law, Mass Tort and Probate. Jaclyn works with the South Texas College of Law – Tax Clinic as a pro bono attorney, assisting in various individual tax related issues before the Tax Court. This unique work experience exposed her to several different cases and legal issues.

Relevant Experience

  • Represent various employers in the energy industry in multiple FLSA collective and class actions.
  • Represent employers in federal and state court lawsuits involving claims for sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation.
  • Represent clients in the defense of lawsuit alleging intentional interference with employment, deceptive trade, and negligence.
  • Prepare and revise employee handbooks, employee policies and related materials.
  • Assist refinery in prosecution of trade secret theft and breach of restrictive covenant claims.
  • Assist in the defense of publicly traded national retailer in landlord/tenant dispute involving property damaged by casualty in two-week jury trial.
  • Assist in representation of co-executrixes of five animal charities, including PETA, the Houston SPCA and the Houston Humane Society, in a will contest of an estate worth approximately $30 million.
  • Assist in personal injury, breach of contract and economic loss cases arising out of deepwater drilling rig failure, in federal and state court actions.
  • Assist in defense of high-ranking corporate executives accused by employees of sexual assault and fraud.
