James is a senior associate in the corporate and finance team in Carey Olsen’s Guernsey office.

He provides both Guernsey and British Virgin Islands (BVI) legal advice on a wide variety of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, investment funds and SPACs. He also advises clients on capital markets, listings and restructurings as well as the regulatory law underpinning these transactions.

James has been recognised for Investment Funds and Commercial and Banking work by Legal 500, as an Associate to Watch by Chambers for Corporate & Finance including Investment Funds and recommended by IFLR1000 as a Rising Star lawyer for Investment Funds and Financial and Corporate work.

Significant Accomplishments

Prior to joining Carey Olsen in 2016, James worked at other leading offshore firms in Guernsey and the BVI, having initially trained at Eversheds in the UK.  He qualified as an English solicitor in 2003 and was admitted as a solicitor in the BVI in 2008.
