James focuses his practice on securities litigation. He has experience in matters involving §10b-5 securities fraud, in addition to defending against claims of insider trading and false statements in proxy solicitations.

In addition to his work in private practice, James is also active in a variety of pro bono initiatives. He has represented Suffolk County Latino residents in police discrimination matters and assisted transgender individuals with name change petitions in New York City Civil Court. During law school, James interned with the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund (TLDEF) where he supported advocacy for the equal rights of transgender individuals in the fields of employment, legal name change, health care, and nondiscrimination in public accommodations. James has also done a variety of pro bono work for other LGBT advocacy groups, such as GLAAD, SAGE, and Lambda Legal.

Prior to joining the firm, James was an associate in the antitrust practice at Shearman & Sterling LLP. There, he handled a variety of matters, including MDL price fixing and bid rigging cases, illegal group boycott cases, and alleged monopolization cases.
