Profile

Jason Fortenberry is a partner in the Jackson, Mississippi office, where he concentrates his practice on commercial litigation, with an emphasis on intellectual property, real estate litigation, land use, and zoning law. Jason regularly represents and advises clients in matters involving trademark infringement, trade secret misappropriation, tax sale and zoning disputes, receiverships, foreclosures and other matters concerning the acquisition, sale, liquidation or use of real property and complex commercial disputes. He has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® as one of Mississippi’s leading commercial and real estate litigators. Jason is also a member of Bradley’s Cannabis Industry team and advises clients on a wide range of cannabis matters, including land use/zoning issues arising out of Mississippi’s Medical Cannabis program.

Jason practices extensively in both state and federal court, as well as various arbitration forums, and has obtained favorable results for a broad range of clients in a variety of litigation and limited transactional matters.

Jason is active in the community, and has served on the board of the I.S. Sanders Y.M.C.A. in Jackson and the Capital Area Bar Association. He also regularly provides pro bono representation to underprivileged clients through the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project and other outlets.
