José María Ruiz Ilundáin is partner in charge of the Garrigues office in San Sebastian and in charge of the commercial law department at the office, where he has developed his entire professional career after working for Arthur Andersen, Asesores Legales y Tributarios in Bilbao.

He forms part of Garrigues’ knowledge management committee.

He has participated as a lecturer on the corporate reorganization module on the Master’s Degree in Business Law at Universidad de Navarra and has been a guest lecturer at Universidad del País Vasco.

He is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences taught by Garrigues, as well as various specialist centers (ADEGI, APD, etc.), and has written a range of articles and publications on current affairs in relation to his areas of expertise.

He has been singled out as leading corporate, restructuring and insolvency practitioner by international directories such as Best Lawyers and International Law Office (Client Choice).

Member of the Guipúzcoa and Pamplona Bar Associations.

Arbitrator of the Court of Arbitration of the Gipuzkoa Chamber of Commerce.
