She specializes in Environmental, Health & Safety, Business Law, Aviation & Maritime, and Energy & Infrastructure.In the field of Energy & Natural Resources, Karla has written legal opinions related to regulated sectors, assisted in international and local bidding processes, drafted electric power supply contracts, secured development and operation permits for electric power projects, and procured environmental permits. In Aviation & Maritime, Karla has mastered the regulatory plans, allowing her broad expertise in drafting opinions on aviation contracts, and in obtaining permits and licenses. Her Environmental, Health & Safety experience includes permits and licenses, environmental impact mitigation contracts, environmental impact studies, and the project socialization process for electric power plants. As for Business Law, she advises local and foreign companies on day-to-day issues as well as mergers & acquisitions.In 2015, after two years of service as a Partner at the law firm Lexincorp, she left to become one of six partners at the BLP offices in Honduras located in Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula.Karla graduated in Law and Social Sciences from the Universidad Autónoma de Honduras in 1997. In 2008, she completed a Program on American Law and International Law for Foreign Lawyers in Texas, as well as a Program on Renewable Energy for Sustainable Rural Development offered by INCAE.She is currently a certified arbitrator and conciliator at the Conciliation and Arbitration Center of the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Tegucigalpa, and has been involved with the Honduran Association of Small Renewable Energy Producers (AHPER), the National Energy Commission, and the Energy Committee of the Honduran Council of Private Enterprise (COHEP).Karla is based in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
