Profile

Kate Plowman is a diligent and committed employment and industrial relations specialist, who provides practical solutions to litigious, commercial and strategic issues across all aspects of workplace related law, for public and private sector clients.

As a pragmatic litigator, Kate is focused on helping her clients achieve speedy and cost-effective dispute resolution. She represents employers in all state and federal courts and tribunals.

Kate's litigation expertise is complemented by her hands-on experience providing commercially astute advice about, and conducting investigations into, allegations of discrimination, harassment, bullying and other sensitive workplace issues, including those involving senior executive employees.

Kate has a strong track record in major outsourcing and restructuring projects, for both private and public sector clients. She helps clients who are embarking on major change to develop and implement sophisticated industrial relations strategies and prepare transaction documents.

In addition to many years in private practice, Kate has held a number of senior in-house legal roles in the Commonwealth and NSW Governments.

Her clients include Broadcast Australia, Commonwealth Bank, Mirvac, NBN Co, NSW Government (including, Health Infrastructure, NSW Police Force, Sydney Opera House Trust, Sydney Trains, TAFE NSW, Treasury, Transport for NSW), Suncorp, and Woolworths.
