Profile

Konstantin Jörgens is of counsel in the EU and competition law practice group and co-coordinates the German Desk of Garrigues.

He has a wealth of experience in merger filings, cartel procedures and compliance programs. Having trained in Germany, Konstantin Jörgens has particularly strong ties to German-speaking clients and also helps coordinate the firm's German Desk. He is “Visiting Professor” for “EU Competition Procedure” at the Brussels School of Competition (Brussels) and co-director of the European and Spanish Competition Law Course at the Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles (Madrid).

Prior to joining Garrigues’ Madrid team he worked as a legal trainee (Referendar) at the European Commission, the German Embassy in Tel Aviv, the German Representative Office in the Palestinian Territories, and as an associate at Hogan & Hartson and Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in Brussels.

Over the last years, Konstantin Jörgens has regularly been selected by his peers for inclusion in the most reputed legal directories such as The Best Lawyers, Who is Who Legal and Chambers Europe in the practice area of Competition / Antitrust Law in Spain.

He is admitted to practice in Germany (Cologne), Spain (Madrid) and United States (New York).

Since its creation, Konstantin has also been serving on the Executive European Alumni Advisory Board of Georgetown University Law Center.
