Profile

Isa Soter acts as counsel for Brazilian and multinational companies, advising them on labor disputes and Business Immigration issues. Isa frequently lectures on subjects related to corporate immigration and expatriates. Her combined experience in labor law and immigration gives Isa a unique view on these issues. Isa represents client in diverse industry sectors such as banking, oil and gas and telecommunications.

After approval in a public examination in 1992, Isa served as a labor judge until her retirement in 2000, initially in the Trial Court as a Substitute Judge and, after March 1994, as a Presiding Judge. In September 1996 she was summoned to work as a Substitute Judge in the Appellate Labor Court, where she worked in four different judicial groups in the Specialized Section on Individual Labor Disputes and in the Specialized Section on Collective Labor Disputes.

Between 1995 and 1997 she taught Labor Law at the Santa Ursula University. Presently, she is an invited Professor in the Post Graduation Program of the Law School of the Fundacao Getulio Vargas.
