Profile

Matt Ferris is a partner in the Restructuring Practice Group. Matt has more than 10 years of experience in the areas of corporate restructuring, debtors’ and creditors’ rights, and insolvency proceedings.

Matt represents clients in all aspects of business restructurings and bankruptcy proceedings, including representing secured lenders, debtors, unsecured creditors, bondholders, indenture trustees, landlords, equipment lessors, and purchasers of distressed assets both in and out of court. Matt also has significant experience in bankruptcy litigation.

Significant Accomplishments
Counsel to the agent bank for a $200 million syndicated credit facility in the Chapter 11 bankruptcy of an oil and gas exploration and production company in Oklahoma City.

Counsel to the agent bank for a $83 million syndicated credit facility in the Chapter 11 bankruptcy of an oil and gas exploration and production company in Houston.

Represented the landlord in the Chapter 11 bankruptcy case and sale of luxury hospital.

Counsel to the majority equity owner and senior secured lender holding secured claims in excess of $61 million in the Chapter 11 cases of an owner and operator of a chain of orthodontic clinics.

Counsel to secured creditor with claims in excess of $76.5 million in the Chapter 11 cases of an international shipping company.

Counsel to the agent bank for a $46 million syndicated credit facility in the Chapter 11 bankruptcy of a coal company in Lexington, Kentucky.

Represented rehabilitation hospital group in its wind down and liquidation through chapter 7.

Represented secured lenders in homebuilder bankruptcy cases filed in Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, and Texas.

Extensive representation of secured lenders in single asset real estate cases.
