Michael focuses his practice on patent preparation and prosecution. He has an educational background in chemical engineering, bioengineering, and materials sciences, and he focused his graduate research on computational modeling of mechanical deformation behavior in titanium-based metallic glass composites.

He has experience as a patent agent in matters involving consumer products, materials handling vehicles, biomedical devices, communication technologies, and graphical user interfaces. As a patent agent, Michael performed patentability and invalidity studies, prepared patent applications, and routinely drafted client report letters, office action responses, and appeal/reply briefs for matters before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
